In relationships, trust is everything! When you have ADD, building trust can be struggle, due to memory lapses.

Sarah A. Ferman and Robert L. Wilford wrote an article “Couples & ADHD: Building Trust in 3 Steps” in the book “365+1 Ways to Succeed with ADHD” to help people create trust in their relationships. (Learn more about the book here.)

The first thing they recommend to do is choose very carefully when you say yes. Make sure that you are capable of actually doing what you are agreeing to. If it’s something you don’t think you can do, then say no.

The second thing that you need to do when you do say yes to something, is create systems to help you follow through on your promises.

Questions:

1.  Do you have any unique ways that you manage what you say “Yes” to so you can keep your commitments?

2.  How do you think you can use the tips to help build trust in your relationships?
